Committees

Our various planning committees are the backbone of NESA activities & services. Staffed entirely by volunteer members of the Association, these committees are dedicated in their desire to provide quality programming and services for our members. Listed below are brief descriptions of what each committee does.

If you are interested in "giving something back to the industry", simply check off which committee(s) you're interested in, and we'll see to it you are invited to the committee's next meeting.

CHARITY GALA COMMITTEE - This Committee is responsible for the planning & execution of our Energy Extravaganza Charity Gala benefitting The Carl McCain Foundation & NESA's Scholarship Program. Members will help plan the black-tie event as well as solicit auction items and sell raffle tickets. This Committee meets 2 to 3 times a year as planning dictates.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE - The purpose of this Committee is to enhance the professionalism of our members through the planning and implementation of workshops, seminars, conferences and technical training classes on national & regional topics of interest to the membership. The Committee meets 4 to 6 times a year as programming needs dictate.
ANNUAL MEETING PLANNING COMMITTEE - The purpose of this Committee is to plan the agenda and solicit speaker candidates for the Association's signature educational opportunity of the year. The Committee meets 4 to 6 times prior to the meeting, which is held in October every year.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE - The purpose of this Committee is to maintain the existing membership of NESA while creating additional opportunities for soliciting new members through programs and events coordinated to emphasize the value in belonging to the Association. The Committee meets 3 to 5 times a year.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE - The purpose of this Committee is to publicize the Association's "Excellence in Education" Scholarship Program to applicants and to develop relationships with universities and donors to further these efforts. Additionally, Committee Members will review applications of qualified candidates and award financial assistance. This Committee meets 3 to 5 times a year.
SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE - The purpose of this Committee is to aid Staff in soliciting financial support for the Association through donations from member companies. NESA is a 501(c) non-profit organization - as such, our affordable programs and services are underwritten by our generous Corporate & Event Sponsors. This Committee meets 2 to 4 times a year.
